Vision-Aid's Partner Our Space Our Place hosts Explore Your Heart Resource Fair
Our Space Our Place, a Vision-Aid partner, hosted a resource fair last week at Tobin Community Center in Boston. Our Space Our Place, a non-profit organization , offers an accessible and fun environment for visually impaired school students in the greater Boston area enabling them to participate in team sports, arts, community service and mentoring .
The fair, aptly named Explore Your HEART, is aimed to exhibit some of the accessibility resources available to the differently enabled residents of the New England area that would help them experience and enjoy the arts, music, literature and lead a healthy wholesome life.
Our Space Our Place had invited a number of organizations, including Access Recreation Boston, Adaptive Splort New England, Arts Emerson, Families Creating together - Community Service Care, Tree of Life Coalition, Museum of Fine Arts, Perkins Braille and Talking Books Library, Neighborhood Health Plans and John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. Each organization has special programs for the visually impaired residents of Greater Boston area.
The fair was very well organized. The vendors were a fountain of information. Vision-Aid volunteers were able to glean a lot of information for the representatives of these organization.

Perkins Braille and Talking Books Library have some great Apps and devices that can be used for reading. They have millions of digital books and thousands of movies that have been specially formatted for the visually impaired.
