CVI Resource & Rehabilitation Center
Vision-Aid partnered with Dr Shroff Charity Eye Hospital, Vrindavan, on June 15, 2025, to establish a specialized Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) Clinic in Vrindavan, Mathura District. The center focuses on early diagnosis, intervention, and visual rehabilitation for children affected by CVI.
About Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI)
Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is one of the leading causes of childhood visual impairment and is often associated with underlying neurological conditions. Early identification and timely intervention play a critical role in improving visual functioning, developmental outcomes, and long-term independence.
Clinical Goals & Services
The CVI Clinic aims to provide comprehensive, child-centered care through the following services:
- Diagnosis and personalized care planning for children with CVI
- Early intervention services for children.
- Home-based training kits, parent counseling, and educational guidance
- Support for integration into inclusive and mainstream education settings
- Low vision interventions, optical aids, and referral for surgical care when indicated
- Multidisciplinary collaboration with physiotherapists, vision therapists, speech therapists, and special educators
- Community-level awareness programs and training for caregivers and professionals

The establishment of this resource center marks a significant step in expanding access to specialized CVI care in the region.
