Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) - MCHP

A Groundbreaking Collaboration

In May 2025, Vision-Aid proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the prestigious Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). This partnership has led to the establishment of the Vision-Aid Resource Centre at the Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP) in coastal Karnataka, significantly enhancing access to low vision rehabilitation services.

Vision-Aid Resource Centre at MCHP

The Vision-Aid Resource Centre, located at MCHP—India’s first college dedicated to allied health science aims to provide comprehensive low vision rehabilitation services which includes low vision screening, visual development therapy, orientation and mobility training, etc.

Goals of the Partnership

A core focus of the resource centre is providing   assistive devices, such as optical aids, digital magnifiers, and smart vision glasses, etc. This initiative aims to support individuals with vision impairments from underserved communities while providing training for healthcare students and professionals in the latest vision rehabilitation practices. This approach will ultimately benefit the population in and around the Karnataka region.

Impact

Vision-Aid India and MAHE are dedicated to provide inclusive, community focused, and technology-driven eye care through our partnership. Our shared goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their visual abilities, has access to opportunities, independence, and dignity in the future.
