Meet Muthu Saranya, a determined young woman from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, who has turned her challenges into stepping stones for success. Her story is one of courage, resilience, and the power of never giving up.
Early Life and Education
Saranya was born like any other child and completed her schooling in a regular school. In 2014, she pursued her Bachelor’s degree in English from Bharathiar University, completing her graduation in 2017.
After taking a year-long break to find a job, she decided to continue her education and enrolled for an MBA in Human Resources and Marketing.
An Unexpected Challenge
During this gap year, Saranya attended an interview at an IT company. While filling out the application form, she noticed that she was unable to see the display clearly or read what was written. Concerned about her vision, she visited Aravind Eye Hospital in Coimbatore.
There, she was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) – a condition where a person gradually loses their vision over time.
Overcoming Difficulties in Education
Despite the challenges caused by her vision loss, Saranya did not give up on her dreams. Completing her MBA was not easy. She used tools like magnifiers and zoomed letters to read her study materials.
In the final semester, her eyesight had worsened significantly. She needed assistance to read her question papers during the exams. Still, with determination and hard work, she successfully completed her MBA in 2022.
Learning to Adapt with Assistive Technology
After finishing her MBA, Saranya realized the importance of assistive technology for her daily life and career. She began learning tools like screen readers and completed several courses in the field.
This knowledge opened new doors for her, helping her become more independent and confident.
The Turning Point: Joining Vision-Aid
In December 2024, Saranya joined the BPO training program at Vision-Aid in Vizag. This training became a turning point in her career.
During the program, she gained valuable skills in communication, voice and non-voice processes, and customer support. With the help and guidance from Vision-Aid trainers, she successfully completed the training in February 2025.
Stepping into the Professional World
with the support from Vision-Aid, Saranya was placed at Chimertech private limited as a Sales and Marketing Assistant. She is grateful to the organization for not only providing her with practical skills but also helping her find the right job opportunity.
Saranya says that the BPO training at Vision-Aid played a major role in improving her confidence and preparing her for the professional world.
