A milestone week ended at Vision-Aid Vizag last Saturday. Vision-Aid partners from four locations in India convened for a week-long specialized training program. This Partner Training program (PTP) saw team members from Delhi, Agra, Pune and Berhampur (8 in total). 5 of them stayed in Vizag for the full week, and 3 of them also visited Vision-Aid’s partner Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai.

Areas that were covered included Best Practices in Vision Rehabilitation, Introduction to Computer Applications, Mobile Technologies, Online training models, Spoken English, Orientation & Mobility, Life Skills training, Digital Accessibility, Braille Technology and other topics.





Training at Madurai at Aravind Eye Hospital
Training at the Vision-Aid Resource Centre at Aravind Eye Hospital included training in Low vision and visual function screening, Types of visual acuity charts and its conversion, Refraction techniques, Paediatric vision assessment , Introduction to magnification, Optical and non -optical devices, Digital resources, Observation of CVI assessment, Rehabilitation and counselling, paediatric Rehabilitation, application of modern technologies like digital book readers, OrCam devices and other topics.
