In the small town of Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, Chadavula Suresh’s life took an unexpected turn early on. Born like any other child, Suresh was only two and a half years old when he was struck by paralysis that weakened his nerves and gradually led to the loss of his sight. By the age of 13, he was completely blind, marking the start of a challenging yet inspiring journey of strength and determination.
Despite these major obstacles, Suresh continued his education in a mainstream school until the fifth grade at UPMP School. The growing difficulties caused by his vision loss required a change, leading him to transfer to a special school, Asian Aid School for the Blind, where he completed his tenth grade. This important move helped him adapt better to his learning needs with customized resources and support.
Suresh didn’t stop there. His desire for knowledge and to be a productive member of society led him to pursue higher education in commerce. In 2022, he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from a regular college, showing that his disabilities were not a hindrance to his academic success.
Wanting to further develop his skills, Suresh took coaching for banking exam for two years. During this time, he was introduced to Vision-Aid. At Vision-Aid, he completed a three-month computer course focused on assistive technology. This training was crucial in helping him navigate and succeed in the digital world.
Suresh’s hard work and dedication paid off when he passed the United India Insurance selection exams for the post of Assistant (Class-III). In August 2024, he started his career at United India Insurance Co. Ltd. (UIIC), where he is not only contributing to the organization but also setting an example for others facing similar challenges.
Chadavula Suresh’s journey is a powerful example of the human spirit’s ability to overcome difficulties through strength, adaptability, and a strong commitment to personal and professional growth. His story inspires many and highlights the importance of accessibility and opportunities for everyone, regardless of physical limitations.
