Vision-Aid has successfully completed the first batch of BPO training course at the Advanced Training Center in Chennai. The program, launched in February 2025, was designed to empower visually impaired students with computer, communication, and professional skills to help them find meaningful employment.
We are proud to introduce our first batch of candidates, who have now secured jobs in reputed organizations with Vision-Aid’s support.
Ashwini’s Journey
Ashwini, from Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, was born with just 25% vision due to nerve damage. She studied in a special school for the blind until the 8th grade and then continued her education in a mainstream school, where she always had to sit in the front row to read the blackboard.
She completed her B.A. in History (2022) and M.A. in History (2024) from Periyar University. When Ashwini learned about Vision-Aid’s free residential BPO training course, she enrolled in February 2025 and completed it in June 2025.
With Vision-Aid’s support, she gained confidence, learned screen readers and assistive technologies, and improved her communication skills. Today, she is working as a Social Media and Operations Executive at RSR Catering.

Praveen K’s Journey
Praveen from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, has been blind since birth. He studied in an integrated school with the help of friends and classmates and went on to complete his B.A. (2021) and M.A. (2023) from Presidency College, Chennai.
In February 2025, Praveen joined Vision-Aid’s BPO training program. After completing the course, he was placed as a Sales Assistant at Chimertech Private Limited.

T. Kowsalya’s Journey
Kowsalya, from Perambalur district, was born with 30% vision. Studying in mainstream schools was challenging for her as she could not read the board or printed materials. She adapted by recording lessons and learning through listening.
Despite these struggles, she completed her B.A. in English Literature (2022) and M.A. in English Literature (2024). She then joined Vision-Aid’s BPO course, where she gained skills in computers, screen readers, and communication.
Today, she works at Laysans Solutions in the Axis Bank Credit Card process.

R. Suganya’s Journey
Suganya, from Mangaadu, Kanchipuram District, lost vision in her left eye at age 10 and later lost complete sight. Her parents stopped her schooling in the 9th standard, but with encouragement from a priest and trainers at NIVH Institute, she restarted her education and completed her M.A. in English Literature (2022).
At Vision-Aid, she not only learned customer communication and BPO skills but also gained expertise in mobility, Braille, Advanced Excel, and computer use with screen readers.
With Vision-Aid’s help, she secured a role at Laysans Solutions in the Axis Bank Credit Card process, where she initially joined as an intern and now holds a permanent position.

A New Beginning for Many
The success of Ashwini, Praveen, Kowsalya, and Suganya is a milestone for Vision-Aid. This pilot batch of BPO training has shown how the right skills, assistive technology, and mentorship can help visually impaired individuals achieve independence and meaningful careers.
