Five-Year Strategic Partnership

Vision-Aid and the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS New Delhi, have entered a landmark five-year partnership to expand access to quality eye care, vision rehabilitation, and assistive technology across the Delhi NCR region.

The collaboration combines AIIMS’ clinical excellence with Vision-Aid’s expertise in vision rehabilitation to ensure that underserved communities receive comprehensive eye care, rehabilitation services, and support for children with Cerebral Visual Impairment.

Project DRISHTI: Bringing Eye Care Closer to Communities

As part of Project DRISHTI, ten Integrated Vision Centers will be established by upgrading existing government primary health facilities across Delhi NCR.

Beyond clinical care, trained community workers will conduct awareness programmes in schools and neighborhoods, promoting early detection and timely intervention.

Project SATHI: Empowering Through Assistive Technology

For individuals whose vision cannot be medically restored, Project SATHI focuses on restoring independence through technology.

The programme will provide AI-powered Smart Vision Glasses, digital magnifiers, and other assistive devices to eligible beneficiaries identified by AIIMS through clinical and socio-economic assessment.

A Shared Vision

This collaboration represents a significant milestone in advancing inclusive eye care in India. By combining community-based services, assistive technology, and specialized rehabilitation, Vision-Aid and AIIMS aim to improve access to quality eye care while empowering individuals with visual impairment to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
