Vision-Aid Charitable Services Society (VACS), Visakhapatnam (Vizag)

The Vision-Aid Center in Visakhapatnam, started in 2004. Vision-Aid Charitable Services Society (VACS) in Vizag is the flagship partner for Vision-Aid USA. Today it operates two centers in Visakhapatnam, offering a comprehensive range of courses in Computer Applications, Mobile Technologies training, Spoken English and Orientation & Mobility training for the visually impaired. The Vizag team also offers training camps in surrounding blind schools and delivers online classes that are streamed to remote locations. VACS also researches and assembles low cost assistive devices and has won several national awards for its innovative inventions – the Camera Mouse, Camera Cat and Vision Wand. In 2019, VACS added a new residential scholarship program wherein visually impaired students can stay for six-months in a residential setting for deep skills training.
